Norman was born in Scotland in 1967, but spent considerable time living south of the border in both London and Northamptonshire, as well as further afield in Italy, utilising his second language.
He previously studied at Glasgow School of Art and Central St Martins School of Art in London, and after a 20 year hiatus took up painting again in 2016 when he joined the Network Arts collective in Northampton.
Having returned to live in the Scottish Borders in 2017, he has been increasingly drawn to landscape, inspired by the topography and light of the area, as a muse for his artwork.
